December Loose Coin

SOJOURNER PROJECT—Safety. Support. Shelter.
This month, our loose coins will be donated to the Sojourner Project, a local shelter and advocacy program for women and children whose lives have been disrupted and damaged by domestic violence. The Project began in the 70s right in downtown Hopkins and has since grown and expanded throughout the Metro with safe houses for families in crisis as well as advocates who will help families negotiate legal and social services. There is also an active education and outreach program to raise community awareness and make sure everyone knows where to go and what to do in cases of domestic violence. The holidays often bring added tensions to families and we want to remember and support those who witness and experience violence in their own homes.
