Thank you! Gracias! Danke! Merci beaucoup!

Our Stewardship Commitment Sunday was a wonderful morning celebrating your generosity. We also celebrated All Saints Day by remembering the saints in our lives. We have much to be grateful for at Union Church and it’s because of the radiant divine image that is each of you!

As we continue the process of discernment about our future together, this Sunday, November 12th is our second special congregational meeting. Like last month, our meeting will be embraced by worship to prayerfully prepare us to listen to each other. But this one will be slightly different because there will be no presentation. We’ll use the time to hear your comments, concerns, dreams, and especially, what you have discerned God speak to you.
You will be asked two things:

  • to follow a congregational covenant of behavior
  • to frame your comment using ‘God’ in what you share. For example, ‘I have heard God say to me …,’ ‘I hear God saying …,’ ‘God has shown me that …’

For many of us, this will be challenging. In a general meeting setting we’re used to expressing our thoughts, suggestions, hopes, and dreams. However, when we include God, then we’re being church and framing those thoughts, suggestions, hopes, and dreams in a way that helps us to embody God’s will. See you in church!
