Union members and friends demonstrate God’s love in the greater community in a variety of ways. We are a community passionate about justice. Whether it’s contributing some food to STEP or writing letters to our legislators to alleviate poverty, we care deeply for the hungry in our community. We have a soft spot for the needs of the homeless, especially youth, so we partner in a variety of ways with Move Forward and My Health. We also partner with The Sojourner Project, Perspectives, Meadowbrook Collaborative, and others. A dozen Union members are involved in social justice advocacy with ISAIAH. You’ll get a glimpse into our passions from the list of Loose Coin offerings this year.

Thanksgiving Day Free Store

The Thanksgiving Day Free Store (TDFS) distributes coats, hats & personal care products free of charge to homeless and impoverished people in Minneapolis on Thanksgiving Day.  It was started in 1995 by members of Union Church as a way to give back to the community. The Free Store continues as a popular outreach of Union, and now has it’s own 501(c)(3) charitable status. There are many ways to be involved with TDFS. Volunteers and donations are always welcome. For more information, contact us at info@tdfs.org or visit our website at www.tdfreestore.org or find us on facebook at TDFS on Facebook.
